Music Heals.
Stories Endure.
Some stories are passed down in sheet music. Others live in the spaces between the notes, in the voices of those who played the rooms history forgot to document. The Music of Us exists to find them.

About Me
Preserving Culture Through Words
A memoir and cultural preservation project documenting New Orleans jazz history through the voices of those who lived it.
For over two decades, I've been documenting the overlooked stories of New Orleans music and Southern culture. What began as a personal connection has become a professional calling—preserving oral histories, confronting institutional erasure, and recovering the stories mainstream music history left behind.
As a press-credentialed journalist, I cover music, culture, and history across the Gulf South and beyond. My work includes conducting primary-source interviews with New Orleans musicians and cultural historians, writing investigative features on institutional gatekeeping of Black cultural spaces, and securing grant funding for arts organizations working to preserve cultural heritage.
Currently authoring THE MUSIC OF US, a narrative nonfiction work exploring music, chronic illness, voice loss, and the cultural landscape of New Orleans.
